³The progressive MHEV plus system based on a 48V electrical system supports conventional TFSI and TDI engines and combines reduced CO₂ emissions with simultaneously enhanced performance. The powertrain generator and an additional 48V lithium iron phosphate battery enable partly electric driving, electric parking and manoeuvring and a significantly increased recuperation performance. This results in reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. The powertrain generator also has a boost function that can temporarily deliver an electric output of up to 18 kW to the combustion engine. This enables very good acceleration and high agility.
