Wireless hotspot and data packages

Up to eight devices can be used in the current Audi models via the wireless hotspot. A fast LTE/UMTS module connects to the Internet. This allows you to surf, stream, and e-mail while stationary or while driving. For this, data packages are required via an Audi cooperation partner with the integrated Audi connect SIM or a data flat rate if a separate SIM card has been inserted.

  • online for surfing, mailing, streaming at any time while stationary and during the ride
  • fast connection to the Internet with up to 100 MBit/s download speed
  • up to eight devices can be used in the vehicle

What you need to use Audi connect

  • Audi connect Navigation and Infotainment option
  • with integrated SIM card (with A3, A4, A5, Q2, Q5, Q7) and bookable data packages via Audi partner cubic telecom
  • with its own SIM card (A1, A6, A7, A8, Q3, TT, R8) and data packages or data flat rate via a third-party provider

Is there a flat rate for the integrated SIM card (Audi connect SIM)?
In the integrated Audi connect SIM, data packages for use of the wireless hotspot and music streaming services can be booked via our cooperation partner Cubic Telecom. The data usage of all other Audi connect infotainment services is unlimited for the duration of the license runtime and is included without additional costs.
Can I use one from my provider instead of the integrated SIM card?
If you use your own SIM card, the connections are separated via the integrated Audi connect SIM card (depending on the model). Data connections for all Audi connect infotainment services run via your SIM card. A data flat rate is then recommended.
Why am I unable to use the wireless hotspot despite an active data connection?
In order to be reachable, use of the Internet data for the wireless hotspot may be interrupted in the "automatic" telephone mode as well as in the "telephone optimised" mode (depending on the mobile provider). This ensures availability for incoming calls. When using the wireless hotspot, you must switch to the setting "Optimised data services".
