The ultra-modern tiptronic automatic gearbox permits spontaneous gear changes at any time. With swift, harmonious gear changes, it combines automatic shifting ease with excellent driving dynamics.

The 8-speed automatic gear provides high switching ease, powerful drive-off ratio and low engine revs at higher speeds. This makes a crucial contribution to reducing consumption and emission values. The dynamic shift program DSP automatically determines the optimum shifting point and adapts to the individual driving style of the driver.

For instance, manual intervention in the automatic mode permits a distinctively sporty performance, while downshifting on winding hilly roads reinforces the engine braking effect.

The 8-speed tiptronic is standard in the Audi S8.
