You’ll need to make four choices: • Fuel type: petrol or diesel • Transmission: manual or automatic • Performance: power, fuel economy and CO2 emissions • Front-wheel drive or quattro, Audi’s legendary all-wheel drive system
The first entry is the 1.4 TFSI. This compact four-cylinder engine with a power of 110 kW (150 HP) and a torque of 250 Nm accelerates the A4 Avant from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of up to 210 km/h. Thanks to the aluminium crankcase the engine’s weight is just over 100 kilograms.
The 2.0 TFSI is available in two versions: The top version offers a power of 185 kW (252 HP) and a torque of 370 Nm. When equipped with it, the Audi A4 Avant reaches 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and its electronically limited top speed is 250 km/h. The second option – a gasoline ultra-engine – yields 140 kW (190 HP). Its torque is 320 Nm. With this engine, the Audi A4 Avant races from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.
The TDI engines start with the 2.0 TDI, which is available in two performance versions: 110 kW (150 HP) with a torque of 320 Nm and 140 kW (190 HP) with a torque of 400 Nm. The driving performance is impressive even with 110 kW. The Audi A4 Avant accelerates from standstill to the 100 km/h benchmark in 9.0 seconds and can reach speeds up to 213 km/h.
With the 140 kW version, the A4 Avant races from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 231 km/h. Both TDI engines will also be available as ultra engine variants.
The six-cylinder 3.0 TDI will also be available in two versions: 160 kW (218 HP) and 200 kW (272 HP). The latter takes mere 5.4 seconds to accelerate the A4 Avant from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of up to 250 km/h.
The quattro® all-wheel drive
The quattro drive stands for dynamic handling, traction and driving safety. The self-locking centre differential is used to provide an optimal distribution of the drive torques between the front and rear axles depending on the driving status, road characteristics and driver type. Driving enjoyment and safety are combined on an entirely new level.
